Building serverless App with Kotlin Multiplatform

Kotlin Multiplatform has gained a lot of attraction recently, even from Native app developers. This approach allowed them to create native apps while sharing code between various platforms like Android, iOS, Web etc.

But with every new approach, a new set of challenges also comes into play, one of them being the ability to create serverless apps with this approach.

In this session, we build together the simplest version of a serverless conference manager app, Kotlin Multiplatform app, using MongoDB & Realm.

Part 1: Introduction to Kotlin Multiplatform • What is Kotlin Multiplatform ? • Creating the first KMM application. • How to share code with the KMM ecosystem with Actual & Expect.

Part 2: Introduction to MongoDB & Realm • What is MongoDB and document database. • Updating the mindset from RDMS to document database. • Intro to Realm and App services

Part 3: Building our session manager app • Adding Authentication to our app. • How to perform CRUD operation. • Adding backed rules or logic for an application. • How to make our app work offline.

City Warsaw

Warsaw. A place like no other. The city of freedom, contrasts and arguably the best street food out there. Whether you’re all in for the history and architecture — from the footsteps of the Warsaw Uprising to the youngest Old Town in the world to the best-known Palace of Culture and Science — the bustling club scene or worthy foodie experiences, it’s all there.

Everyone who’s visited Warsaw before knows that life here never stops. Rich in history and culture, Poland’s capital leaves a lasting impression with its resilience, contemporary feel, forward-looking outlook and sheer joie de vivre

Welcome to Warsaw.

Venue Copernicus Science Centre

One of the biggest and most advanced science centres in Europe.

Located just a 10-minute drive away from downtown Warsaw, Copernicus Science Center stands on the bank of the Vistula river at the heart of local nightlife.

If you tend to get carried away by science and space, that’s exactly the place to do so without running the risk of side glances from your friends and colleagues.

  • Discover mind-blowing nature facts;
  • Catch a glimpse of the Universe at the Planetarium;
  • Visit the High Voltage and Robotic theatres;
  • Run your own experiments;
  • Learn the things we’ve yet to understand about the world around us.

With large audience rooms for over 300 people each, state-of-the-art conference equipment, experienced staff and plenty of extra space for mingling around, Copernicus Science Center has become an ideal venue for this year’s edition of plDroid.
